We designed and built these wardrobe units for our customer in Snoqualmie, WA.  The client really wanted a custom built look, but it wasn’t in the budget to go fully custom.  So to save money, we started with IKEA cabinets, and built around them to create these beautiful built-in sets.  The cabinets are a combination of IKEA’s PAX wardrobe units, with a few cabinets from their kitchen line.  To those, we added some stacked crown, and some base molding to integrate it with the style of the rest of the house.  We used matching panels from IKEA to create the partitions and open shelving.  Having the painter match the color of the cabinets tied it all together so no one would know it was pieced together!  The resulting wardrobe/media center in the master bedroom, and study/wardrobe in the daughter’s  room, not only add some much needed storage and functionality, but they look amazing too!

     What we like-

We love it when our customers push us to work outside the box.  In this case our client was happy to use IKEA to save some money, but wasn’t going to be happy with the standard, out-of-the-box look.  This gave us a chance to stretch our creative muscles, and show off some of our craftsmanship!
