IKEA laundry room cabinets are a smart, affordable way to add serious storage and function to a small space. We designed and installed this laundry room using IKEA kitchen cabinets for the same clients whose kitchen I featured in “I Can’t Believe It’s IKEA” — proving that IKEA’s cabinet system works great outside the kitchen too.

Our designer, Breanne did a great job of maximizing the small, restricted space, and I really like the use of the RUBRIK blue doors for an accent. It can be tricky to work those in to a design, because they only come in 15 and 18″ widths.

Mud Room Storage With IKEA

Here’s a cool IKEA hack: Since this room is just off the garage, the client wanted a place to sit and take off shoes and store coats and bags, so we built some custom shelves and cubbys using matching panels from IKEA. For the seat, we used a piece of IKEA’s NUMERAR countertop.
