Located on beautiful Vashon Island, WA with an incredible view of Puget Sound and Mt. Rainier, this early 70’s home was in serious need of a makeover, and this was one project where we didn’t hold back. We tore every thing out, right back to the studs so that we could, re-wire, re-plumb and re-insulate to bring the kitchen up to date and allow for all the modern amenities. The crowning glory of this kitchen renovation is, of course, the addition of the dramatic vaulted ceiling – a vast improvement over the original popcorn ceiling to say the least! All in all it truly was a fun and challenging project for us, and it certainly stands out as one of the most dramatic transformations we’ve done.
What we like –
Of course the vaulted ceiling is the stand out feature, but what really makes this kitchen stand out for us is the white on white color scheme. We had our doubts at first, but it all came together, when those awesome light fixtures went in. We really like the weathered wood flooring too.
