This small but extensive bathroom remodel was done for our clients in Eatonville, WA. This is just the guest bathroom, so they didn’t want to sink a whole lot of money into it, but, outdated and cramped as it was, the bathroom was well overdue for an update. To make the room feel more open, we replaced the tub with a walk in shower. This allowed us to get rid of the partition wall that was part of the tub enclosure, and replace it with a frameless glass enclosure. We also took out a closet that was just taking up space, and extended the vanity to get more countertop space and storage. Adding in a nice big mirror, and some recessed can lights really brightened up the room and made it seem much bigger and more inviting. Another nice feature we added is the heated tile floor. This may seem like a luxury, but it’s an efficient way to heat the room, and oh-so-nice on those cold, late-night, barefoot trips to the bathroom!
What we like –
You probably can’t tell, but the vanity cabinets are actually IKEA kitchen cabinets. The reason you can’t tell, is because the doors are made by Semihandmade – who, along with a handful of other companies out there, make doors especially for IKEA. These third-party doors take IKEA cabinets to the next level, giving that custom designer look at a fraction of the price. These faces here are grain matched walnut.
